Course Description

The SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management is a vocational education qualification in the Tourism, Travel, and Hospitality Training Package. The certificate is designed to develop an individual’s skills and knowledge in managing kitchen operations, including menu design, financial management, and staff supervision. This certificate requires the completion of core units, which introduce fundamental principles of cookery, kitchen operations, and food safety, as well as elective units, which provide a range of specialised skills in Asian and Western cuisine, coffee making, and alcohol service.

Entry Requirements

  • Be 18 yrs or older
  • Hold a minimum Yr 12 Certificate (or equivalent in Kenya Form 4)
  • Be competent in written & spoken English (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent),
  • Have a working digital literacy and access to computers.
  • Hold a Cert III SIT30821 in Commercial Cookery
  • Evidence of Covid 19 vaccination or other health requirements the Australian government requires.

Core Requirements

Students must complete 33 Units of competency.
