Course Description

The HLTAID009 unit of competency provides training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), a lifesaving technique used in emergencies when experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. The training is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform CPR safely and effectively, including assessing the patient’s condition, performing chest compressions and rescue breathing, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and communicating effectively with emergency medical services (EMS). This unit is included in various accredited courses and training packages in industries such as health, sport, fitness and recreation, transportation and logistics, and agriculture, among others.
